Guided by a beekeeper with over 18 years of expertise, this hands-on session will bring you face-to-face with the hive. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a family searching for a memorable outing, or just intrigued by bees, our Barnsley Beekeeping Experience offers something truly unique.

What You’ll Experience

The Barnsley Beekeeping Experience is designed to be engaging, informative, and unforgettable. Here’s what you’ll do:

Discover the Life of Bees: Start with an introduction to the roles within a bee colony—learn about the queen, worker bees, and drones, and gain insights into their fascinating life cycles.

Get Suited Up: We’ll equip you with all the protective gear you need, including a full-length bee suit and gloves, so you can explore the hive safely and confidently.

Hands-On Hive Exploration: Step into our apiary and open up a beehive! You’ll spot eggs, larvae, and maybe even see a baby bee emerging from its cell. Learn about bee communication, including their famous “waggle dance,” and understand how they produce honey.

Relax with Refreshments: Enjoy a drink and snack after the session, giving you time to reflect on your beekeeping experience and ask any final questions.
