Our Buzz Beekeeping Experience is the ideal gift for those interested in honeybees or who fancy\u00a0experiencing\u00a0something a little different! A\u00a090-minute\u00a0beekeeping experience led by a qualified teacher with enhanced DBS check and over 18 years of beekeeping experience.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What will we do?:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n

We will start our Buzz Beekeeping Experience with a little background information about honey bees. Discuss the workers, queen and drones. I\u2019ll introduce you to some beekeeping equipment and explain what they are used for. Then we will don our space suits\u2026I mean bee suits and venture into the apiary. We will open up a hive or two and explore the world inside. Together we will spot eggs, larvae and pupa, and maybe see a baby bee emerging from its cell for the first time. We will talk about how bees make honey and I\u2019ll explain the dances that the bees perform in order to communicate to each other.\u00a0 Refreshments available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where we will your Buzz Beekeeping Experience be?:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We live on our family small holding overlooking the hills towards Penistone. From this little piece of paradise, we will open up the hives and investigate the work that goes into making each jar of honey that you buy. You may also bump into our friendly flock of chickens as they wander free-range over our 30 acre homestead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
